A Smile From Suzy Favor Hamilton Draws Favorable Reactions From Her Facebook Friends and Fans

 

Suzy Favor Hamilton has been away from the public eye since December 20, 2012. After her story broke out, she only made one public update on her personal Facebook account on February 5, 2013 through a family photo she posted. Her last tweet was made on December 20 last year. In other words, there has been no news about her except for some analyses made by bloggers and online writers. Most of them offered recycled content from previously published articles.

On Monday (May 27 2013), she let out a smile for her Facebook fans. She must have been testing the waters when she made that smiley icon. And it was a good move on her part: her fans and friends welcomed her and expressed their support for her. Apparently, the Suzy magic is still there. Despite everything that she went through, those who love her have only understanding and compassion for her. Here's what Suzy said to those who posted their comments:

You probably have heard about Suzy Favor Hamilton's life's story and her bout with depression. Before the news about her living a double life broke out in December 2012, Suzy was a complete stranger to me.

I was shocked by her story. A three-time Olympian, she married her college sweetheart and they had a 6-year old daughter. She was a motivational speaker and she was actively involved in the family's realty estate business. This almost-perfect life was marred by the images of her secret job -- as an escort who was paid 600$ per hour.

I've been following her story since December 22, 2012. I have experienced multitudes of emotions because of her story: from pity, to admiration, to disgust, to understanding, and to sympathy.

I've read almost everything written about her. Everyday, I was looking for some "Suzy" news but there was nothing that said about her and her family after that big scandal came out. Until February 5, 2013.

I saw this family photo she shared on her Facebook account and it said, "My rock and my little angel", referring to her husband and to her daughter, respectively. I became emotional when I saw it. It's unbelievable that Mark, her husband, didn't file for a divorce. I'm glad because Mark stood by her in those trying times. Indeed, he's a keeper. It's great to see that the family is getting enormous support from friends (based on the photo comments). It had 72 Facebook Likes the last time I checked it.
